Background

The Nigeria High Commission Kuala Lumpur was established in 1991, primarily to promote diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Malaysia. The Mission is also responsible for providing consular services to Nigerians resident in or visiting Malaysia and promoting trade and investments between the two countries.

High Commissioner

The current High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Malaysia is His Excellency, Dr. Wahab Olaseinde Dosunmu. He assumed duties on 22nd May 2004. Before his appointment as High Commissioner, Dr. Dosunmu was a Senator, representing the Lagos West Senatorial District from 1999 to 2003. He also served as Federal Minister of Housing & Environment and Minister of Science & Technology between 1979 and 1983. An Engineer by profession, Dr. Dosunmu is a Fellow of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers and Nigerian Institute of Town Planners.
